I have at least one ancestor (a 3-times-great uncle) who served in the 8th Kentucky, Company I. I think I might have a 4-times great uncle in the same company. Their names are William H. Jarvis and Hugh Herd.
I am curious if you have any information on either of them or on Company I specifically. I would also like to learn about anything you know (especially if you have a bibliography) about the 8th Kentucky.

I will have something for you on these soldiers today. I have a printed version of an 8th Kentucky Regimental history but it needs some work. Seems that whoever photocopied got some pages mixed up or something so it is very hard to read and keep up with in places. If I can find it on Google Books I’ll be sure to post a link to it on here somewhere.
